Shocking visuals surfaced on the internet with two intruders randomly trespassing the Lok Sabha House today. What is historical to note is that today also marks the 22nd anniversary of the 2001 Parliament Attack.

One can’t help but wonder if they were looking for their fifteen minutes of fame, because what better day to pull a stunt than the anniversary of the Parliament attack? The internet, being the internet, erupted into a frenzy faster than you could say “security breach.”

Was it a protest? A dare gone wrong? Or just a couple of masterminds trying to stress-test Parliament’s security? Well, that is a question to ponder upon.

The Parliament Security Breach Incident

How It Happened

On the 22nd anniversary of the Parliament attack in 2001, a major security threat happened. Two individuals unlawfully entered the Lok Sabha emitting yellow colored smoke canisters all across the room. The whole incident triggered chaos and disturbance among the MPs.

The incident occurred around 1:00 p.m. today when the intruders entered from the public gallery. The members present inside the house also reported that the two intruders were shouting slogans like “tanashahi nahi chalegi.”

Fast-forward a bit, and our dynamic duo—Neelam and Amol(aka the intruders) —are less about making dramatic exits and more about getting cozy with the Delhi police. They have been detained by the police.

It’s interesting to note that Netizens have a way of shining a light on even the most sobering incidents through humor.

So, while you chuckle through tweets and hot takes, somewhere, a few security officials are probably not laughing. They’ve got some serious explaining to do, because if you managed to smuggle smoke canisters into the galleries, maybe they need to consider hiring squirrels as security guards – they’re great at sniffing out nuts, after all.
